Done it

OK, now I’ve gone and done it…..
For years (ever since I was in school) I have made due with a simple flux core welder. It has been a pain in almost every way I’ve used it, but I just haven’t taken the plunge and bought a real welder. The bottom line has been gas (Argon) because the “bottles” have been crazy expensive.

A couple of weeks back, I found that a local warehouse (Jula) sells gas in a bottle they call Mini Bertha! 300bar 2500 liters of gas, and a bottle you own. All for the semi-nice price of ~$550 and when empty you exchange the whole thing for ~$100. That is a whole lot cheaper than the other places you get gas here. There you most of the time have to rent the bottles and keep up payments.

Now, I’m the proud owner of an ESAB Origo C141 MIG welder and a Mini Bertha with 2500+ liters of gas. That should hold me for a good while 😃

Next thing in that area now, is finding a supply of steel. I have a store that sells to private people, but I bought a sheet (1meter x 1meter) and it was ~$50! Along came some off-cut pieces I plan to use in installations I make (hobby) and some pieces were big enough to be used to fix other stuff. I have a lawnmower that needs a plate welded to it.

Under, you can view the video I made while rebuilding the garden trailer for my mother. I forgot to film the start of the project, which included the pain that was welding the mount.

This is a new (to me) way of filming and I am still learning the ropes. I promise to try my best at getting better, and I would very much like for you to visit my channel and get in on commenting, liking (or disliking) and of course subscribing to my uploads.

Bad weather!

I am just enough of a couch potato, that when it’s bad weather I’m inside 😂 I wish I was outside, because I want to flip the bikes I picked up the other day, but it’s cold and damp and I’m instead watching learning videos when I’m not working my day job.

There hasn’t been any good items up for grabs either, so I haven’t been out for a pickup since the bikes. There was two tillers up for sale, but I didn’t catch any of them until someone else had picked them up… There are loads of items listed every day, but nothing that I can make an easy profit on. Chairs, tables, couches, misc. kitchen items, and so much more, but; Not for me.

Just checked the forecast for tomorrow (which is a Holliday) and it just might be enough of a clear up that I could venture outside and have a gander on the bikes. Let’s hope so!

Something new :-)

So… For a very long time, I’ve been struggling with car trouble. I own a 2000 Toyota Corolla that hasn’t been on the road for over two years (it’s to be sold now). My daily driver has been a 2002 Toyota Yaris Verso that’s preformed well, but it won’t pass this years bi-annual inspection. Continue reading “Something new :-)”

Talking points Feb. 3

Malwarebytes, another disappointing event

Saturday Jan. 27th, turned out to be quite the ordeal for a large number of PC users.

Malwarebytes pushed out a protection update that caused connection issues. Amongst problems with the web protection aspect, Malwarebytes caused a huge spike in memory usage, so much so the computers crashed.

I am personally a premium user of MBAM, and felt this thing hard. My computer started randomly spiking and crashing and kept on doing so for a couple of hours. I managed to finally get MBAM uninstalled and re-installed and I guess that happened around the time MBAM pushed out another protection update, which resolved the issue.
